Farm Fresh Everything at the Royal Oak Farmers Market

February 7, 2019 By Krystina Morgan

There’s nothing more refreshing than a good farmers market with fresh food spread out across all the tables while the smell of all the different fruits and vegetables wafts through the air. Vendors smile as customers walk up to the tables, excited to show them what delicious products their farm has produced. This is exactly what happens at the Royal Oak Farmers Market every Saturday. From 7am to 3pm, the market lights up into a delightful selling and trading area for all things farm fresh produce.

The Royal Oak Farmers Market has a little something for everyone with their variety of groceries including strawberries, cherries, raspberries, asparagus, spinach, radishes, homemade jams, apple cider, handmade holiday decorations, and so much more. Since 1925, the market has maintained a strict “farmer must grow” rule, but has also branched out to include a wide variety of meats, cheese, poultry, seafood, dairy, vegan, and gluten free baked goods. Some vendors also offer special food products, all locally produced, as well as beautiful plants, flowers, and fantastic garden-related items.

The permanent building in which the farmers market resides is quite popular among the townsfolk and is used for many different dances, Halloween parties, public meetings, and craft shows One couple who met at the market even got married there in 1996! There is truly always something special going on at Royal Oak Farmers Market. To become a market vendor, simply fill out the application on their website. Parking is free during open market hours.
