Please Help Our Friends In Need
The National Flea Market Association (NFMA) is coordinating a fundraiser to help employees of Greater Houston Area flea markets including Traders Village. Traders Village Houston, operating since 1989, has served millions of people over the years. Now, they and other markets are in need of our help. Many employees have been severely impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
Tim Anderson, president of Traders Village Marketplaces tells NFMA,
“Hurricane Harvey has created issues and suffering in the Houston area that is really just beyond comprehension. I am certain that dozens of our employees have experienced flood damage to their homes. Many will not have flood insurance. At the moment, our ability to communicate with our employees and dealers in the Houston area is severely limited. We have spoken or texted with most of our management employees, many of whom have been trapped in their homes for the last four or five days. Thankfully we have not heard of any major injuries or loss of life among the Traders Village family. Later this week, myself and several of our maintenance employees will be making a trek to the Houston area to provide assistance as we are able. This will include my parents’ house, who received nearly five feet of water in their home. It is difficult to anticipate our needs at this date, but I am guessing the needs will be great and the resources few.”
Please consider making a donation to support these members of our flea market family during this challenging time. NFMA will match donations up to $5,000. Every little bit helps. Click here to visit the NFMA donation page. For more information, call the NFMA at (262) 955-6605.
