The National Flea Market Association is introducing the new Featured Flea Market Program at its annual conference this year in answer to interests demonstrated by previous years’ attendees. Following a thorough survey taken after last year’s event, “We learned that vendors want to hear about other flea markets,” comments John Schoen, NFMA board member since 1998 and head of advertising and marketing for the conference. “I immediately thought of Traders Village because it’s their 40th anniversary this year, so we decided to start this program to recognize different markets. We hope to continue the program each year.”
Traders Village CEO Tim Anderson is slated to give a presentation on the first day of the conference, Tuesday, February 5, to speak on the history of the flea market group. With three Traders Village locations in total across Texas, Anderson offers a unique perspective on large scale flea markets and the growth of each location over the past four decades.
The NFMA Annual Conference begins with a golf outing on Monday, February 4, 2013, at the Silverstone Golf Course in Las Vegas, NV. The conference itself will take place on February 5 and 6 at the Tropicana Room. Room rates begin at $79. Applications, a hotel discount for conference attendees and further information about the golf outing are available on the NFMA website, www.fleamarkets.org.
