Meeker Avenue Flea Market, a popular Williamsburg, Brooklyn, haunt at 391 Leonard St., closed up shop as a result of a recent Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing by its corporate parent, Fratelli Ricatto Ltd. “Meeker Avenue Flea Market has ceased to exist, and its assets are now in the hands of bankruptcy court,” said Michael Ricatto, president of Fratelli Ricatto. “That’s a shame, because Meeker Avenue was actually beginning to show a profit.”
The bankruptcy filing had nothing to do with the successful flea market’s operations, but rather was prompted by an unrelated personal injury lawsuit. The market was the site of a movie shoot last year.
