While continuing to provide area residents the same delicious, farm-fresh produce, the Grinnell Farmers Market has upped its safety precautions due to COVID-19. The market will continue to be held along the sidewalks of Brad Street and 4th Avenue, and the vendors will maintain at least 6 feet of distance between each other.
The Grinnell Farmers Market is one of the best farmers located in central Iowa. With dozens of vendors, there is never a shortage of things to buy and see. They offer locally-grown fresh produce, baked goods, honey, jams, plants and flowers, handmade crafts, and much more.
In an effort to provide as little contact as possible for those interested, an online option to pre-order market products is available for the 2020 season. Using the website, GrinnellToGo.com, each vendor may choose to make their own profile and list their products. Customers can pre-order products online and pay with a debit or credit card.
Pre-orders must be made during certain hours, which can be found on the market’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/grinnellfarmersmarket. Vendors will pre-package orders and leave them at the token table, located in front of the Veterans Memorial Building, before the start of the market. This is also where customers can pick up their pre-orders.
If you are interested in becoming a vendor at the Grinnell Farmers Market, check out the 2020 Rules & Application on their website, complete the last two pages and send to temesha@getintogrinnell.com or mail to the Chamber offices at 833 4th Ave., Grinnell, Iowa, 50112.
