This farmers market is under new management and ready to have one of the best summer seasons yet! The 40 West Farmers Market, located in Lakewood, Colorado, is in their fourth season and is held on Saturdays starting June to the first Saturday in October.
This farmers market has a warm and fuzzy back story. The 40 West Arts District, the city of Lakewood and local neighborhood supporters saw great potential in creating a farmers market that brought fresh, local foods to their area. They partnered with Chef Gene Kalesti of Pure Colorado Farmers’ Markets to create what is now the 40 West Farmers Market.
This farmers market recognizes miniature local organic farms that are located on less than two acres by giving them discounted fees to sell at their market. Their focus is 100 percent Colorado grown, manufactured, and produced products as well as green, clean produce. They also recycle and compost everything throughout the hours of the market.
If this was enough to spark interest to sell at the market, you’re in luck. 40 West Farmers Market is always open to new vendors, with the application on their website at 40westfarmersmarket.com. They offer very special pricing for very small farmers, so don’t delay in securing your spot today.
