Pittsburgh is celebrating their roots and supporting Bloomfield businesses with Little Italy Days, a weekend-long event featuring live entertainment, games, food, and much more. Taking place from August 13 – 16, 2020, this heritage festival will have fun for the whole family.
Little Italy Days began in 2002 to celebrate Bloomfield’s Italian heritage and to create a destination spot for Italian-themed entertainment and food. The event has grown throughout the years and is now a four-day event. Sal Richetti, who has produced the event since 2012, moved the festival from September to August to give vendors more opportunity with the longer daylight and less chance of cold weather.
“I am excited and honored to produce this community oriented event in the community where I was born and raised. I want to be able to produce Little Italy Days so the businesses can benefit from the large crowds and everyone else including residents, organizations, schools and churches can become involved,” Richetti said in a statement.
The festivities will include a Celebrity Bocce Tournament, which is an annual tournament held on Saturday and Sunday at the event. Guests can enroll in teams to go up against other participants. There will also be the title for Miss Little Italy, available for contestants aged 4 – 17 years. Winners receive a beautiful “Gold Miss America Style Crown,” a sash, and a large trophy. Attend this year’s Little Italy Days to see what other fun events they have in store!
