Ranked one of the best markets in the U.S. and the world by Travel + Leisure, Country Living, Budget Travel and Fodor, Brooklyn Flea operates multiple flea markets every weekend of the year. The Flea features hundreds of top vendors selling furniture, vintage clothing, collectibles and antiques, jewelry and arts and crafts by local artisans and designers.
Founded in April 2008 by Jonathan Butler and Eric Demby, Brooklyn Flea has grown into one of New York City’s top attractions. Time Out NY has also named the Flea one of New York’s essential pick-up spots. The markets are open rain or shine and admission is free. Pets are allowed at the outdoor market, but not the indoor market.
Starting the first weekend in April through October, the markets take place outdoors Sundays in DUMBO. The Flea also operates Smorgasburg, a giant all-food market that launched in May 2011 and takes place Saturdays in Williamsburg and Sundays as Prospect Park’s Breeze Hill. Smorgasburg features 100 local and regional vendors. From November through March, the market moves indoors to a single location.
