Travel back in time to the early 13th century at the Mutton & Mead Medieval Festival in Montague, Massachusetts. Each year the Mutton and Mead Tavern throws a festival drawing in entertainers, artisans, merchants and folk from both near and far. The streets become a flurry of activity with merchants hawking their wares, games to test the skills of both children and adults, and wandering minstrels infusing the air with music.
Mutton and Mead aims to offer an entertaining experience while also providing a venue to members of the local and extended community to showcase their talents as performers, educators, crafters and artisans. There will be plenty of shows throughout the day as well as shopping and food vendors selling a wide variety of swords, artisan crafts, leatherwork and jewelry as well as fine mead, smoked turkey legs and other tasty treats.
The weekend of June 15th and 16th will be perfect day full of fun and learning for the whole family. Activities include shooting a round of archery, playing games at the tavern, and watching jousters as well as many other talented performers.
