For 59 years, the San Jose Flea Market has been the place family and friends make memories playing, shopping, and eating together. Today, the market remains one of the best destinations in the region with plenty of rides, a playground, food vendors and aisle upon aisle of jewelry, clothing, collectibles, books, toys and baseball cards, just to name a few.
The San Jose Flea Market started with an idea to keep usable items that were being tossed out in a solid waste and landfill business. George Bumb expanded his idea to include individual merchant stalls and on-site storage. 50 years later, the market is still celebrating a community and family tradition with all that they offer on-site for both vendors and buyers.
The San Jose Flea Market spans more than 120 acres with family oriented activities, shopping and food. Hosting more than 6,000 vendors every weekend, there’s plenty to see and do for the whole family. Admission is free and parking is free on Wednesdays and every day before 9am. On Fridays, parking is $3, Saturdays is $7 and Sundays is $15.
The market also has a new GPS enabled Mobile Shopping Directory, which is a free mobile app they developed to help shoppers find what they’re looking for across the whole property. The interactive directory uses a Google Map for easy navigation. It helps you to save your parking location, search for a specific vendor and locate them, and be able to see where you are in the market. For more information, visit their website at www.sjfm.com.
