The company’s extensive product line includes protective cases, car and wall chargers, hands free headsets, Bluetooth items, screen protectors, cell phone holders and many other items.

“We’ve been in business for more than 15 years and we know what consumers are looking for,” states Mark Gerber, senior sales representative. “Our Samsung Galaxy series, Kindle Fires and iPad mini covers are extremely popular now because these are the hottest technology products on the market. When new products come out, we are ready with the right accessories.”

N.E.M. Electronics offers products in a wide variety of colors and textures, including leather and heavy-duty materials, to satisfy any consumer’s preference. The Holster Combo II for the Samsung Galaxy S4, for example, includes a hard back case and holster clip. The face-in design protects the screen when sliding into the holster. It offers a 180-degree rotating swivel belt clip and a kick stand for viewing movies and videos. It is available in solid black as well as in black with pink and black with blue.

N.E.M. Electronics offers very competitive prices, Gerber adds, and retail is three to four times wholesale price. The minimum order is $200, and the company provides counter top displays with several of its products. With a manufacturing plant in China and warehouses in the USA, the company can ship anywhere in the world.

“Bringing new, cutting edge products to the market, along with our attention to quality and our great customer service, has kept us on top the cellular industry,” Gerber continues. Launched as a two-man operation, N.E.M. Electronics has grown to be a 40-person operation in the U.S. alone with additional employees in China, where its quality control staff is located.

“We custom make products for many of our accounts and our products can be found in chain stores and independent shops throughout the USA. I invite retailers to contact our sales team with any questions they have regarding our product line.”

Opened May 3rd, the market is owned by Brian Mulligan and Ada Marvin, Mulligan's mother-in-law.

The Maple City Flea Market, in Adrian, MI, opened May 3rd and will host its grand opening celebration at the end of June, The Daily Telegram reports. Brian Mulligan and Ada Marvin, Mulligan’s mother-in-law, co-own the market at 1061 S. Main St., operating it along with Mulligan’s wife Deb and Marvin’s husband Dennis.

Maple City Flea Market has 22 vendor booths selling both new merchandise and upscale resale. It will also sell items on consignment. Merchandise will change continually as vendors and consigners bring in new items, and as new vendors come in, according to the Daily Telegram. Shoppers will find merchandise such as collectibles, NASCAR items, CDs and DVDs, handcrafted wares, antiques, purses, artwork, doll furniture, toys, glassware, garden implements and power tools.

Vendors do not need to be on site selling their merchandise. All vendors have to do is rent booth space and tag their items. The price tags all have numbers on them identifying the seller so that the market managers can handle the sales.

People who wish to consign items can do so for 30 days. If the item does not sell, the owner can either pick it up, or lower the price and re-consign it for another 30 days. With both vendors and consigners, the market keeps a percentage of the sale price.

Delivery is offered within Adrian for customers who need an item hauled. There is a charge based on distance for this service.

Ron Cates, Constant Contact's email and social media marketing expert, shares best practices.

Ron Cates is Constant Contact’s email and social media marketing expert. He tours the country speaking to a variety of audiences on the importance of engaging consumers through the use of social media. People are willing to pay a premium, up to 69 percent more, if they have a relationship with a seller, Cates reveals. Social media facilitates this connection.

Facebook posts, for example, should incite people to “like” and comment. “If we know and like a business, we go there.” Another survey found that 51 percent of buyers purchased a product based on online recommendations. Social media is a huge forum for consumers to share opinions. “It’s not a numbers game,” Cates stressed. “It’s about being real. If your business was a person, what words would it use?”

Here are a few social media best practices from Cates:

Share insights.

Comment back.

Say thank you when someone posts something nice.

Answer questions.

Share comments in other marketing channels.

Possibly reward, but do it in private.

If something negative is said, seek to satisfy, not to defend.

Email, too, is social media, Cates noted. “235 million people in the U.S. use email, and most of us check it multiple times a day.” It needs to be permission based, he stressed, so make it easy for consumers to subscribe. Tell them the frequency of the mailings. Vendors can post a sample newsletter at their booths.

The message must be valuable information rather than a sales pitch. “People know you sell something. They might not buy what’s in the email, but they might buy from you within the next few weeks if you engage them.”

A few more things to remember about email marketing:

HTML emails are opened eight times more than text emails.

The subject line is powerful. Keep it to a maximum of 40 characters.

Capitalize and punctuate carefully.

Scan in your actual signature.

Target your emails to interested audiences.

In the U.S., mail on Tuesday or Wednesday, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

How often to send emails depends on the strength of your relationship with the email recipient. Therefore, vendors might want more than one list. “Making a big impact and a small intrusion is your goal.”

To help vendors simplify what can seem like a daunting task, Social Media Quickstarter, from Constant Contact, offers a free resource library, he pointed out. A digital marketing pioneer, Cates has educated nearly 100,000 small businesspersons on the importance of email and social media marketing.

James Bond's Geiger counter wristwatch from the hit 1965 film, Thunderball, has turned up at a car boot sale.

James Bond’s Geiger counter wrist watch from the hit 1965 film, Thunderball, has turned up at a car boot sale, the British equivalent of a flea market, following years of mystery as to its whereabouts, Sky News reports. The prop was key to the plot of the film as it helped the secret agent locate stolen atomic weapons during underwater scenes. The Breitling watch was picked up for £25, or around $38, and is now to be sold by Christie’s in London with an estimated price of up to £60,000, or $91,000.

The Top Time model by the luxury Swiss watch firm was the first watch Bond moviegoers had seen being adapted by Q’s team in the 007 film series. It is one of a number of items that are given to Bond by Q, who was played by Desmond Llewelyn, when he heads over to Nassau. One of the hands of the watch shows the strength of radioactivity. Sir Sean Connery, who played agent 007, uses it during the film’s famous aquatic scenes on a mission to find two Nato bombs that were stolen by the evil organization, Spectre.

The basic watch was originally made by Breitling in 1962, and then adapted by the James Bond art department, and was the only one produced for Thunderball. It is thought the watch was passed on by someone who worked at Pinewood Studios, where much of the movie was made.

Christie’s will offer the wrist watch at its South Kensington location in a Pop Culture sale on June 26, Sky News said. “This is a great opportunity for collectors to acquire a unique piece of James Bond memorabilia,” the auction house pointed out.

YML Group manufactures and distributes a large selection of cages for small animals, such as birds, dogs and other pets, as well as other pet supplies, including cushions. “Flea markets are great outlets for our products, because many markets sell live animals,” says Michael Lee, owner. “It is a good combination to sell the animals and the cages at the same time to make it easy for shoppers to take the animals home. Based on our research, the most popular cages to sell at flea markets are for small animals such as gerbils, rabbits, chinchillas, hamsters, mice and rats, as well as dogs and birds. We have many styles and colors available.”

Small animal cages are manufactured in a wide variety of sizes and styles, and come with various amenities, such as a translucent color top cover, removable ball, food dish, drink bottle, house, wheel, platform and tubes to keep pets active and content. Birdcages can have, for example, a pull down front door, feeder doors, perches, an easy to clean removable metal grate and a slide out bottom plastic tray. Dog crates are foldable, offer an easy to clean slide out bottom plastic tray and a single door, and are easy to set up without tools.

YML Group has been selling animal cages for more than 15 years. In addition to being sold in retail stores, the brand is marketed through several online shops, including Amazon, eBay and Wal-Mart.com, and the name is well known to consumers.

“Our pricing is very competitive and we offer the best possible quality products,” Lee points out. Wholesale starts as low as $3.50 and goes up to $200 per item, and retail is at least double wholesale pricing. There is no minimum order. Vendors are welcome to shop the company’s warehouse in El Monte, CA, and can pick up one or two of any item. The company will ship orders throughout the U.S. as well.

YML Group will be exhibiting at the SuperZoo National Show at booth #2101. The show is being held July 23-25 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV.
