New Life for Hell's Kitchen FleaHell’s Kitchen Flea Market, located in the heart of the district at West 39th Street and 9th Avenue every Saturday and Sunday, is no stranger to challenges and politics.  Since 2015, the market, owned and operated by Annex Markets together with the Chelsea Flea Market, has been under fire from the City’s Arts, Culture, Education and Street Life Committee, but market owners are happy to report that the market’s application for 2017 has been approved.

Consultant Karen Seiger made a report to the Committee assuring the members that the HK Foundation, a non-profit associated with the Hell’s Kitchen market, will continue it’s mission to sponsor local artists and artisans living in the famed NYC neighborhood. “We are committed to engaging and contributing to the vitality of this neighborhood,” Seiger says.

The market’s operators held multiple meetings with the Committee to ensure all of the city’s legal stipulations are met, as well as to outline a plan for future revitalization of the historic Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood. Committee member Austin Ochoa notes that the committee members “look forward to seeing the market striving and being successful.”

Vendors looking to join the Hell’s Kitchen Market can find more information on the market’s website at www.annexmarkets.com. Online payments and reservations are also accepted on the website.
