Handcrafted Peruvian JewelryNative American Specialties imports earrings, necklaces and rings handcrafted by Peruvian artisans. Top selling teardrop shaped thread earrings with beading are colorful and unique pieces that are available in dozens of shades. A sister line of threaded earrings contains photos such as a peace sign and a Native American girl with a horse, with custom images coming soon. Dream catcher thread earrings, Murano glass pieces and natural stone jewelry are also popular items.

“Our thread earrings are very high quality and affordably priced, and an easy impulse sale,” states Dave Blake, VP of operations. “When people see them, they often buy more than one pair. Several convenience stores and gas stations carry our earrings, and they are selling several dozen per week. Quality, low prices and excellent service are the key to our success as well as yours.” Threaded earrings retail for $6 and up. Right now, Native American Specialties is offering a special of 48 pairs of earrings at a wholesale price of $130. Products are delivered in a free 5- by 5- by 17-inch display case. The firm is also looking for distributors, and the distributor price is $1.70 for purchases of 3,000 pairs or more.

Finest metals & semi-precious stones

Handcrafted Peruvian JewelryNative American Specialties’ jewelry is made with a variety of metals such as copper, bronze, iron and alpaca silver. An alloy of zinc, nickel and iron, alpaca silver has properties similar to stainless steel in that is will not rust or tarnish. The ear wires used for earrings are made of surgical steel. A variety of semi-precious stones are used including turquoise, chrysocolla, rose quartz, pink Andes opal, black onyx, mahogany obsidian and agates. Other materials used to create the jewelry are Murano glass from Venice, Italy, bamboo, dried gourd, bone, horn, old coins and seeds.

“We work with a team of craftsmen who have a lot of experience in the art of making handmade jewelry,” Blake notes. “Through their work, they reflect the cultural richness, habits and ways of life of the Native American culture.”
