Outdoor Farmers Market Returns to Courtice May 5

In addition to its merchandise vendors and four restaurants, the venue’s outdoor farmers market returns May 5 and runs through October. The facility opened its doors in 1992 and sits on 12 acres of property. Open year round, the market comprises three buildings as well as outdoor spaces. All year long, fresh eggs, cheese, deli meats and baked goods are available in the main building. The market also hosts special events, including “Cousin Courtice’s Birthday Celebration” on June 2nd, when there will be entertainment for kids and free cupcakes.

Courtice Flea Market is open Saturdays and Sundays, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Vendors can either set up permanent booths in one of the three main buildings or rent indoor or outdoor spaces by the weekend. Typical indoor spaces are 10 feet by 10 feet, and outdoor spaces are 12 feet by 20 feet. Booth rates vary based on size and location, with an outdoor weekend space renting for around $40. The market is the largest country market located east of Toronto, between Oshawa and Bowmanville, and is minutes away from Canada’s most travelled highway, the 401.
