Tu-Swap Debuts Unique Setup

tu-swap swap meet imageTu-Swap Indoor Swap Meet, recently opened in Tuscon, AZ, is situated in a 150,000-square-foot warehouse with booths ranging from six by eight feet to 20 by 40 feet in size, separated by pegboards for hanging merchandise. Booths are all equipped with electricity, and vendors are offered coffee on the weekends. What has proven to be attractive to many of the new vendors is the option to rent one of the building’s office spaces, which can be merchandised like a brick and mortar store. Each can be rented with its own key, so that the vendor may literally lock up at night.

“At Tu-Swap we have made a commitment to advertise week in and week out,” says Doug Shugart, market manager. “This ensures we have a steady stream of qualified, interested customers coming to each booth every day we are open.” Though the market is still new, Shugart plans to have a number of food vendors join the market soon, as well as special weekends that emphasize community outreach and music. “It’s getting busier,” he told the Arizona Daily Star. Items being sold include handmade goods, furniture, collectables and vintage pieces.

The indoor swap meet operates from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and from 8 .m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Vendor spaces are available from $54 per week, and one office space is still available.
