The decision to add monthly special events on Sundays attests to another successful year of business, marking Tanque Verde’s 37th year. Tanque Verde boasts more than 800 vendors selling produce, vintage, antiques, new products and clothing, with a retro merry-go-round and rides to entertain the whole family. The first Sunday event will also feature performances by Danza Azteca Callpulli Tonantzin, an authentic Aztec entertainment experience, a dance performance by Ballet Folklorico Tapatio and an array of other musical entertainment spread across the Tanque Verde Swap Meet’s 30 acres. While 19 of those acres are dedicated to vending and the remaining acreage is for parking, visitors are advised to arrive early as the parking area has been known to fill quickly.

The Essential Details:

The first of the monthly Sunday swaps begins at 11 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m. The Sundays are planned for the third Sunday of every month and take place at 4100 South Palo Verde Road, Tucson, AZ 85714. The Swap Meet typically opens for vendor setup on Thursday afternoons, and is open until 11 p.m. on Sunday nights. Vendor spaces range in price from $8 to $21, depending on booth location and number of days spent selling, and are all generally 11 feet wide and 26 or 35 feet deep. Vendors interested in operating a space or learning more can visit, email or call 520-294-4252 for more information, or find the market’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
