Airport Market Reopening a Great Success
Residents of Spring Hill, FL and adjoining towns had an extra reason to enjoy their weekend on Saturday, October 6, when the Airport Flea Market and Farmers Market held its grand reopening. The market closed in 2007 after 30 years of strong sales and steady traffic, but under the new ownership of Nick and Vince DelCorso and their friend, Andy Orfitelli, the market is once again up and running. The combination flea and farmers market is in line with the current trend of blending types of shopping experiences, enticing more foot traffic by consolidating errands. Shoppers can find everything from arts and crafts to zucchini at the market without needing to make an extra stop.
Residents were eager to shop at the Airport Flea Market and Farmers Market again after five years without it. Vietnam veteran John Riley Watkins, 72, told Hernando Today that he was glad for the opportunity to get out of the house and meet people, entertaining the crowd by singing and playing guitar. “I enjoy what I’m doing and, at my age, it beats sitting on the couch,” he said.
The Airport Flea Market and Farmers Market is open every Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 17375 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34604.
