Airport Farmer’s & Flea Market Grand Reopening
The Airport Flea Market was opened in 1977 and was a beloved facet in the Brooksville, FL community. In 2006, the original owner closed the market, but now, nearly seven years later, the establishment is under new ownership and that the market is being reopened. With upgrades and painting done to refurbish the old buildings, a fresh branding approach and an enthusiastic advertising campaign, the market is geared up for its grand reopening on October 6 and 7. It will be open every Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine. There are three buildings with 400 spaces under roof cover. Building A and building C house 10-foot by 10-foot spaces, and building B contains double units of 16 feet by 12 feet. Vendor fees are $16 per day, but for building B, vendors must commit to a month of selling, starting at $18 with electricity.
The Fresher, the Better
“We are looking to do live entertainment and bounce houses for the kids,” says Nick DelCorso, one of the market owners. “We take great care to advertise ourselves adequately, and we’re anxious to get it up and going. There has been a lot of positive feedback about the market, especially because we’ve branded ourselves as a combination farmer’s and flea market.” The demand for fresh produce is high, as interest in eating locally sourced food has become a prominent trend in the community.
