Fifty-one Years and a New Sandwich Shop

Image of the 7 Mile FairStrolling through a 40-acre flea market such as the 7 Mile Fair in Caledonia, WI, it’s easy to work up an appetite. To round out the market’s selection of ice cream parlors and fair food stands, a sandwich shop has now been added to the 7 Mile Fair’s food lineup. The fair employed an active social media campaign to promote the new Sub Shop and continues to stay abreast of the latest news and trends, which contributes to its longevity. This year marks the 51st anniversary of the founding of the 7 Mile Fair, a number that attests to the market’s willingness to adapt to changing times. “I remember spending my Saturdays as a young girl and the fair,” says Jodie Niles, contributor for the fair website. “The fair provided many entrepreneurs a starting ground and many local residents a place to find employment.”

Keeping Up With The Caledonians

The market has made a number of additions to its website over the years, including an electronic registration form so that vendors can sign up for space online. The fair’s highly active Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages draw thousands of fans on a daily basis. Find the 7 Mile Fair online at 7milefair.com. Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for seniors. Children 11 years old and younger are free. The market operates on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. indoors and from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. outdoors.
