Pewter Products from Imperial Manufacturing
Imperial Manufacturing was founded in 1975, selling pewter products such as jewelry, necklaces, charms, figurines, chess sets, and much more, all at low wholesale prices. For owner T.J. Kerscher, son of the original founder, Imperial stands out because they use the best material. “With our products, you know what you’re getting,” he says. “The metal that we use is the finest available. We don’t plate anything, it’s all pure, solid pewter throughout, from the middle to the outside.”
Kerscher notes that Imperial is currently expanding its entire line, with new pendants, and figurines as well as a new finish on all of its products. He adds that every part of the country is different, as various regions have certain items that are best sellers. For example, out west, mining products are huge sellers, with a complete scene of miners and trains a top seller, but in other parts of the country, it may be dragons or zodiacs or incense holders.
Locally Made Products
However, one thing that does matter throughout the entire country is that all of Imperial Manufacturing’s products are 100% made in the U.S.A., manufactured in the company’s Wisconsin facilities. “We have a very high quality product line at a very economical price, and we’re made in America,” Kerscher adds. “We have a start of the art manufacturing facility here where we can keep up with the Chinese manufacturers as far as production goes. That is a huge selling point for us, because we make a better product than they make overseas at a competitive price.”
For Kerscher, it is the over 2000 items available, with items appropriate for kids, teens, and adults, and the ability to get a huge profit margin that makes Imperial a great source for any flea market vendor. He notes that the pendants are especially great merchandise for heavy markups, wholesaling for 50 cents and often selling for $5 or $6 apiece. Yet Imperial also offers several higher-end products that wholesale for up to ten or eleven dollars each. The minimum order size is $50, and buyers can mix and match quantities to reach that total. The wholesaler also does a great deal of customization, offering custom colors on necklaces and special orders made in-house for custom pieces.
