500 Booth Flea Coming to El Paso

El PasoThe I-10 Fleamarket and Fair is scheduled to open in El Paso, TX this March, with room for up to 500 booths and 1600 parking spaces, as well as permanent restrooms and a community stage, the El Paso Times reports. 50 vendors have already expressed interest, and the market will also feature rides for children and a variety of food booths such as funnel cakes and cheese-stuffed meatloaf. Developed by local cowboy and western boot manufacturer and retailer Cowtown Boots, the estimated total cost of bringing the market to fruition is $250,000.

Quality Merchandise and Entertainment

While some city representatives were initially skeptical about the idea of the flea market, David Hatton and Joe Calcaterra of Cowtown Boots convinced the city of the quality of the market and have pushed forward to ensure they will be open by the spring. “We wanted to bring something here that was more than just your typical flea markets that you see throughout town,” Hatton told the El Paso Times. “We wanted to provide plenty of parking space, vendor options and food options. Most flea markets are just something that is put up in a parking lot — and we wanted to do more than that.”
