After five years, Elvis has entered the building

Elvis Moyer

After working for five years to start a flea market, community center, and church in Reidsville, N.C., Elvis Moyer is finally launching his Flea Palace in an old school building at 6830 US Highway 29. He opened yesterday and will have a grand opening celebration with hot dogs, chicken, and potato salad tomorrow. The market is currently filled with products he is selling himself, and he hopes to add other vendors to the market — for now, it’s just him and 100,000 items for sale. “I’ve got the whole school absolutely full,” he says. “I’ll move it to one room when I need to accommodate someone else.”

Moyer is seeking more vendors, however, and is charging $10 for an outside space and $15 for an inside space. The flea market will be open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays every week.

His plans for the future include a boys’ club to help the community. “I want to help get the young boys off the street,” Moyer says.
