Traffic has been heavy at the Roller Rink Antiques Mall in Maine since it opened April 1.

The Roller Rink Antiques Mall, which just opened April 1 in an old roller skating rink in Detroit, Maine, is planning to launch a flea market on Fridays and Saturdays as well this summer. Operated by Paul and Maureen Greene, who bought the building Feb. 18, the new business has been very successful, according to Paul Greene. “We’re chock-a-block full, with a waiting list,” he says. There will be an official grand opening celebration on May 8, featuring a store-wide sale.

The business has gotten some good press, with features in The Bangor Daily News and the Central Maine Morning Sentinal. The Roller Rink Antiques Mall is also on Facebook.

The antiques mall currently has 56 vendors, and the Greenes hope to attract 20 to 30 vendors to the upcoming flea market, scheduled to start May 14. The flea market will operate on Fridays and Saturdays during the summer, from 8 a.m. and lasting into the afternoon. Spaces will cost $10 each, with tables provided for so long as they last. “We have free coffee and cookies,” adds Paul Greene. For more information, call (207) 487-5565.
